Animating text in PowerPoint to appear line by line can be accomplished by following these steps:
- Open your PowerPoint presentation and navigate to the slide where you want to animate your text.
- Select the text box containing the text that you want to animate. If you don’t have a text box, you can insert one by clicking on the “Text Box” button in the “Text” group on the “Insert” tab.
- With the text box selected, click the “Animations” tab in the PowerPoint ribbon.
- In the “Animation” group, click “Add Animation”. A drop-down menu will appear with various animation options.
- Select an entrance effect from the list. For example, you may choose “Appear”, “Fade”, or “Fly In”.
- After choosing an animation, go to the “Start” menu in the “Timing” group. Choose “On Click” if you want the lines of text to appear individually each time you click.
- Next, go to the “Animation Pane” on the right side of the screen. If you don’t see it, you can open it by clicking “Animation Pane” in the “Advanced Animation” group on the “Animations” tab.
- In the “Animation Pane”, click on the drop-down arrow next to your text box and select “Effect Options”.
- In the “Effect Options” window, select the “Text Animation” tab. Set the “Group text” option to “By paragraph” to animate each line of text separately. Then click “OK”.
Now, when you play your presentation, your text should appear line by line with each click. Remember, you can always preview your animations using the “Preview” button on the “Animations” tab.
