To make a PowerPoint presentation play automatically, you need to set up the timings for each slide or create a self-running presentation. Here’s how you can do it:
Setting Up Slide Timings
- Open your PowerPoint presentation and click on the ‘Slide Show’ tab located in the main toolbar.
- Click on the ‘Rehearse Timings’ option. This will start the presentation from the first slide.
- As each slide appears, the timing begins immediately. Once you are ready to advance to the next slide, click your mouse. The time spent on the slide is then recorded.
- Continue this process for each slide in your presentation. Once you have completed the presentation, a box will appear summarizing the total time of the presentation.
- Click ‘Yes’ to keep the record timings. Now, whenever you play the slideshow, it will progress automatically according to the timings you set.
Creating a Self-Running Presentation
- Click on the ‘Slide Show’ tab in the main toolbar of your PowerPoint presentation.
- Click on ‘Set Up Slide Show’ in the ‘Set Up’ group.
- In the dialog box that appears, choose ‘Browsed at a kiosk (full screen)’ under the ‘Show type’ section.
- Click ‘OK’. Now your PowerPoint presentation will run automatically during your actual presentation.
Remember, you can always adjust the timings for each slide if you find that some slides need more time than others. Moreover, the ‘Browsed at a kiosk (full screen)’ option is best used when you want the presentation to run continuously, like at a trade show booth or a conference.
